This was a house that originally was located around Lucille Lake area, but was moved to Whistler at some point. RDC was hired to do the first renovation/Addition a few years ago.
The house was bought by a Hong Kong couple last year, who hired back RDC to renovate the kitchen, laundry/pantry and mudroom. RDC connected with BMDesigns to take on the new layout and interior design.
The project was a bit of a challenge as the designer only got to meet our clients a couple of times throughout the whole process, so a lot of decisions were made over the phone and online. Another challenge with the design was the fact that the clients wanted to incorporate more than one design style. She was leaning more towards french country chique, while he wanted more contemporary, midcentury modern style.
The end result was a clean shaker style kitchen with narrow rails and stiles, classic marble looking quartz countertops, and slim line island legs. Furniture was more contemporary to add a modern feel to this old charming cottage.
