Public Invited to Tour Whistler’s 2010 Net Zero Home
What: Residents and visitors to Whistler are invited to tour British Columbia’s first Net Zero Home, built and designed by RDC Fine Homes. Net Zero Energy means that over the period of one year the amount of energy the building creates is equal to its energy consumption. With RDC’s 2010 Net Zero Home this has been achieved by designing and building a house that is ultra-energy efficient and through the creation of alternative energy. The 2010 Net Zero home was built using unique partnerships to showcase the latest in green build and home appliance technology.
When: Open Houses are scheduled for the following dates:
Sunday, February 7 - 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 17 - 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 24 - 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Friday, March 19, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday, March 28 - 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Where: The 2010 Net Zero Home is located at 8377 Ski Jump Rise.
Directions: From Whistler drive 4.5 km north on the Sea to Sky Highway. The Net Zero Home is located in the Rainbow community which is between Alpine and Emerald Estates. Turn left onto Crazy Canuck Drive and wind your way up to the north eastern upper end of the community. Turn right onto Ski Jump Rise. You will see the home on your left hand side.
