" Last winter, I hired RDC Fine Homes to upgrade the deck on my house. Richard Haywood was the person in charge of the job.

I have nothing but praise for RDC Fine Homes. Richard was excellent at communicating with me, both by phone and email. He kept me up to date on how the project was going, what the current challenges were, and if there were any unexpected costs. He always returned my calls promptly; I never had any concerns in this regard.

My deck is beautiful. I am certain that it is well built. A few months after completion of the project, I noticed a leak in the roof. Richard promptly contacted the roofer and it was fixed very quickly. Also, there was some leaking during the project itself, because a tarp blew off the deck during a storm. The damage was fixed quickly without any fuss.

The design of the house was complex and required attention to detail and the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to various construction issues that were generated by the design of the structure, while still staying true to the architect's vision for the house. Taking leadership from its Owner  and President, RDC is a construction company with integrity. This was the third project that RDC has done for us and we realized that the values that Bob Deeks lives are reflected throughout the organization. In-service training, product knowledge, innovative tehcnology, and environmentally aware procedures help to ensure a well built home.

Building a home can be a stressful project, for the owner and the contractor. RDC makes it as pleasant and as happy a situation as possible.

In particular we have made these observations:

Clarity - Bob listens and answers directly. "We only have two catalogues, Harlene, expensive and very expensive." This told me exactly what I needed to know!

Communication skills - Every planning meeting with Laura, the interior designer, was followed up with a written summary of our discussion, or decisions.

Every Friday during construction Blair, the Project Manager, and Laura e-mailed a progress report to us, as well as the work that was projected for the following week.

Ethics - a respect for one another permeates the work environment. We found that the RDC employees as well as the sub-trades genuinely wanted to do their best for the client and for RDC. Every worker whom we met was friendly, polite, responsible, honest, and skilled at their job. The worksite was always safe, clean, and tidy.

Except when we incurred an extra expense, the agreed upon budget was adhered to. There was no pressure to buy more, or to buy higher. Our design wishes, colours, styles, and lifestyle were honoured. "
